SOFY SOLOMON is a media professional who is committed to developing storytellers, everywhere.

Sofy teaches at NYU Tisch and CUNY Hunter. She has designed and built writing programs at Sesame Street, Disney and the New York Public Library, launching careers that have gone on to earn 2 Emmy Wins, 15 Emmy nominations and counting. She also works as an independent producer/talent manager, representing a diverse roster of artists whose work has been featured at Netflix, TIFF, Tribeca, Apple, DreamWorks and more. In her spare time, she is building an international reading/writing exchange, The Thread, whose contributors’ works have been recognized at Sundance, SFFILM, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

With origins in the US, Eritrea, and Ethiopia; a Yale degree in Economics and a French Masters in Anthropology/Music; and a growing collection of cellos in Paris, NYC and Alabama—Sofy has learned not to put anyone in a box.
